Taikoz 20th Year and '20' Series

Taikoz turns 20...  and that's something to beat a drum about!

With many thanks to our loyal audiences, to our many dedicated students of taiko, and to friends and colleagues, we are excited to share this milestone with you.

Who would have thought it? Beginning with a single concert in 1997, we have seen things grow to a year-round schedule of main-stage performances, national and international touring, collaborations with a wide range of artists, concerts in schools, community workshops, and weekly classes for 6 year olds to 66 year olds. And for all the support, friendship and encouragement we have received on the way we are incredibly grateful.

To celebrate “20”, Taikoz is presenting a series of workshops that will cater to a wide range of interests. Having launched our series with Chieko Kojima’s stunning "Onna-Uchi" workshop, we’re thrilled that Taikoz co-founder and international shakuhachi Grand Master Dr Riley Lee is presenting the next workshop - “Breathe!" More will workshops follow from Taikoz co-founder, Artistic Director Ian Cleworth, and ensemble virtuosi Kerryn Joyce, Kevin Man and Ryuji Hamada. keep an eye on the website for updates.

“20” culminates in our Angel Place 20th Anniversary concert on October 21 and we’d be thrilled to have you come and celebrate with us!
