Kuchishoga And The Internal-External Continuum with Ian Cleworth - Term 4 2017

Term 4

Fees

$40 Full / $30 Concession

Workshops

Mastering the taiko vocal sounds called kuchishoga is essential to the learning and performance of taiko. All performers need to come to grips with the "internal-external-internal-external continuum”, and practicing kuchishoga is a great way of realising this important concept. Ian’s 90-minute workshop will introduce the basic vocal sounds associated with the high-pitched shimedaiko, lower-pitched nagado-daiko/odaiko and atarigane (kane), followed by how to make phrases and improvise using kuchishoga.
