Kevin Man

Taikoz Guest Artist

Member since 2020

Kevin was an active member of Taikoz from 2002 until 2017. He performed in all of Taikoz's mainstage works, toured Australia and internationally, and was intrinsically involved in teaching in the dojo. An accomplished performer, Kevin's role extended across playing a wide range of taiko, shinobue and shakuhachi, as well as Onikenbai fue and dance. He studied all these disciplines in Japan with top teachers and in 2010, with permission of Iwasaki Onikenbai Hozonkai, established the Sydney Onikenbai Club along with Anton Lock.

Also an accomplished percussionist, Kevin joined the Sydney Opera House resident Opera Australian Orchestra in 2017 as a fulltime member of the percussion section. Kevin is now a Taikoz Guest Artist, working with the ensemble on occasion.
