Taikoz Meditation Marathon for Make Music Day

21 Jun 2020

A four-hour streaming event featuring Taikoz with soloists Riley Lee, Timothy Constable, Joshua Hill, Sandy Evans, Jess Ciampa, John Napier, Ed Goyer, Ed Rodrigues, Lee McIver, Trevor Brown, Baran Yildiz, Kerryn Joyce, Ryuji Hamada, Sophie Unsen and
Richard Cilli (dancer/choreographer).

Evolving over four hours, our Meditation is underpinned by a subtle, ever-changing drone created live on the rin (temple bowl) and sound design by Timothy Constable. Inspired by the concept of the mandala, soloists, staggered across the four hours, will enter at the top
floor of Phoenix, descend the spiral staircase down into the bottom floor musical space, improvising, collaborating and influencing the shape and dynamic of the work. Their combined energies will create a non-stop magical flow of sound, texture and melody.

Please join us from the comfort of your own home. Feel free to meditate, chant, sit quietly, dance, sing, play, or simply tune in and out as you wish! Meditation Marathon is produced in partnership with Phoenix Cultural Centre and streamed from Phoenix Central Park.

We are very much looking forward to celebrating international Make Music Day and sharing our music with you.
