April Taiko Intensive with Guest Instructor SHOGO YOSHII

14 Apr 2023 to 16 Apr 2023

Taikoz is honoured to have Shogo Yoshii appear as Guest Instructor for our April Intensive, which is to be held at the Taikoz Dojo in Ultimo, Sydney, APRIL 14-16 (Friday 6:00pm-Sunday 4:30pm).

Before joining KODO in 2003, Shogo travelled the Japanese countryside to study folk music and dance. On stage with KODO, he was a featured artist not only on the taiko, but also shinobue, kokyū, and as a dancer. Shogo is an adventurous and enquiring creative artist, and in 2010 he joined the musical ensemble of Babel choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet, which toured the world, including a stunning season in Sydney. Shogo followed this project by becoming music director and performer in Arte y Solera’s flamenco piece Dojoji. More recently, Shogo toured internationally with Larbi Cherkaoui’s dance production Fractus V.

Shogo’s skills as a performer and teacher are renown and we are thrilled that Shogo will be here to share his immense knowledge, experience and expertise with us all. Come and join us for a weekend of taiko playing, learning and fun.
