Aadya – The Mother of the Universe and Original Power from which the Five Senses and Five Elements were formed.
Celebrating the grace, power and artistry of the four amazing Women of Taikoz and International Guest Artist Tsubasa Hori, this is a fitting title for Taikoz’s latest production.
For over 20 years, Australian performing ensemble Taikoz has thrilled audiences with their dynamism, musical and physical expression, original music and productions, vast array of hand-crafted instruments, and unique collaborations with artists of many styles, genres and disciplines. Each Taikoz member is a highly trained Taiko Artist committed to creating a new genre of music combining the traditions, techniques and aesthetic principles of Japanese taiko with Australian creativity, energy, inventiveness, theatricality and individuality.
Aadya sees internationally acclaimed Taiko Artist and Composer Tsubasa Hori joining forces with the Taikoz Quartet in new works by all five artists. The program also features the winning entry of Taikoz’s Composition Competition for Women Composers.
