Digital Dojo, Torque and Beyond

We finished our first season of recording for Digital Dojo last Friday lunchtime and made way for our Synergy mates, Adam Jeffrey, Josh Hill, Tim Brigden and Niki Johnson, to film a movement from Vijay Iyer's mallet quartet, Torque, which will be premiered by these guys next year... CV-19 willing.

Torque
was to be the centrepiece of a program by Synergy that formed a third of a 3-part subscription season shared between Synergy and Taikoz in 2020. Sadly, no more. But we do plan on being back in the theatre early next year to present both this work and all the new original pieces that Taikoz players are currently working on.

Meanwhile, we're now heading into post-production on the Australian Taiko Academy Digital Dojo where the interested player will be able to explore many facets of taiko. From Shimedaiko Basics to Level 2 Katsugi Okedo, from Wrist-busters to Stagecraft, from Sansan to Kazan, there will be lots of excellent educational material on offer.

We're planning on an October launch... watch this space!
