Bundanon

Last week, Sophie, Ryuji and I spent a week working in the beautiful Glenn Murcutt designed Boyd Education Centre. The property is called Riversdale and is part of the Bundanon group of properties and buildings centred around artist Arthur Boyd's original homestead on the Shoalhaven River. Its a stunning spot, very peaceful and well set up for living and working. We played for 6 hours a day, followed by more non-drumming study sessions in the evenings, working on the low, medium and high taiko: odaiko, nagadou (yokouchi style) and shimedaiko. A wonderful week was capped off by a joint concert on a pleasant balmy evening with friends and colleagues Ensemble Offspring.
