Fast paced and high energy – get ready to enter the exciting world of taiko! Devised especially for young adults, Tataku provides an opportunity to build new musical skills, develop fitness, and learn a range of exciting taiko styles and rhythms in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Ideal for beginners and experienced taiko players alike, all you need is energy, drive and a desire to engage with this highly physical and rewarding art form.
Bring a friend, meet new ones and round off the week with a big play on some big drums!
PLEASE NOTE: The Full fee is the standard price to book into this class for those aged 14 to 18. The Concession fee is only applicable where more than one sibling from the same family is attending this class (aka Sibling Discount). In the case of a Sibling Discount, the first sibling pays the Full fee and the subsequent siblings pay the Concession fee.
Tataku class members also have the opportunity to perform at our annual Australian Taiko Academy concert.
Students are required to have their own bachi (sticks). If you wish to purchase these from Taikoz you may do so at the special student price of $40.
It is the Academy's policy that students must wear hearing protection while attending our classes. You can bring your own ear plugs, or purchase reusable ear plugs from our shop for $35 or disposable foam ear plugs at the dojo for $1.50.
