Taiko Time with Ian Cleworth - Term 3 2021

Term 3

Fees

$70 Full / $70 Concession

Intermediate

TAIKO TIME with Ian
Paradiddles, Pad Work, Shakers and Grooves

Ian is presenting a series of sessions that will cover technical work on the drum pad, along with some beat-stomping, shaker-shaking and tap-tap-tapping – all to some pretty hip grooves.

While some of the pad work is of a more advanced nature (paradiddles, rebounds and cross-rhythms), everyone can join in on the shaker part. All you need is a shaker of any description. If you don't have one, make one out of a cylinder filled with small, round seeds and taped up at each end… you’ll feel like a 5-year old doing arts & crafts again!

The basics revolve around stepping to the beat and shaking the shaker in time with your feet, all to a backing track of some beautiful grooves (headphone or ear-buds are required for this).
